The Day of the Dead (or Día de Muertos in Spanish) is a traditional Mexican holiday that may seem creepy to a stranger, or resemble Halloween. In fact, the Day of the Dead celebration derives from the ancient Aztec traditions of more than 3,000 years ago, and the Day of the Dead in Mexico is a lively, social feast filled with festivities, treats and memorable family moments. Mexico continues to celebrate Día de Muertos every November 2nd due to its joyful combination of tradition, family and religion, which makes November a special time to visit Mexico. And here in Puerto Vallarta, we invite you to be part of this tradition that gives identity and pride to Mexico. Be part of the beautiful tribute we pay to those who have already departed.
Join us in celebrating our deceased with colorful events and activities that will begin in October and end in November. We will celebrate this date with art exhibitions, folkloric ballet, Mexican nights, mariachis, catrinas contest among many other activities allowing national and foreign tourists to experience the traditional and the modern in the worship of the people who left us.
