We tell you what to do in Puerto Vallarta if it’s your first time, the best of this beautiful city summed up in a few paragraphs. Let’s explore!

Walk along the boardwalk

By far the best introduction to Puerto Vallarta. Two kilometers of magnificent views of the Pacific, sculptures and locals contemplating the sea.
Sprinkle a little of Puerto Vallarta’s vibe with the atmosphere of bars, restaurants, boutiques and craft shops. As a tip: the best time to visit it is the sunset.

The best beaches

If you are in Puerto Vallarta, it is because you want to enjoy the best beaches in the Pacific. You can start with the more familiar options, such as Las Ánimas, Playa de Los Muertos and Playa Dorada.
If you’re looking for something a little quieter, more remote and natural, we suggest Boca de Tomatlán, Las Caletas and Yelapa.

Tour of the historic centre

Also known as Viejo Vallarta, this neighborhood is unique and is nothing like the rest of the city. Unlike other beach destinations like Cancun or Los Cabos, downtown Vallarta is really old and retains its colonial essence.
Municipal regulations require establishments and residences to preserve the traditional architecture of white facades and tile roofs. Jewels such as the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe will make you fall in love with this area of the city.

A day in Marina Vallarta

This area combines the best of Puerto Vallarta: beach, restaurants, shopping malls, golf clubs, bars and nightclubs. You can spend an entire day here!
Don’t miss the experience of touring the marina and admiring the luxury yachts anchored, it’s quite a spectacle.

Muelle de los Muertos

Don’t let the name fool you. This is one of Puerto Vallarta’s newest attractions and is always full of life and hustle and bustle. It is a modern dock that goes more than 600 meters into the sea, from where you have a great view of the ocean.
At the end of the pier there is an impressive metal sculpture that simulates a candle, surrounded by a circular square. Another great place to watch the sunset.
