"Full of character in a great location."
TRIPADVISOR, November 2016 - We were on a tight budget but still wanted something clean and character. Other reviews sold on on giving Posada de Roger a try. To no surprise we were not disappointed. The positives were many. Location was really really good in my opinion. Only a few blocks from Los Muertos beach and pier, one block from the Saturday market, around the corner from the bus and surrounded by great restaurants and shops. The place is nothing fancy and our room was simple but clean and functional. It had both A/C and a ceiling fan. Coffee pot is free upon request. Pool area is small but very relaxing. Lovely courtyard. We found staff to be helpful and friendly, always some at the front desk that could speak English. Rooms had no safe but lock boxes were available for free at the front desk. In talking with other guests we found a number of them were return visitors and some have been regulars for years and years. Its a quite little place but it is downtown so its not like they can control all the noise at night, not that night noise was ever a problem for us. Would not hesitate to stay again and highly recommend, but only if you like a clean, quaint affordable hotel in a really superb location.
"Wonderful and cozy."
TRIPADVISOR, November 2016 - Went with girlfriends for a mini vacation was pleasantly surprised. The rooms where colorful and nicely decorated had ground floor open the door and your in paradise a courtyard with chairs tables and plants everywhere, it's right next to a restaurant that serves the best breakfast also very close to all kinds of other restaurants bars the beach and so much more would definitely stay again!
"A quaint little gem in the heart of old town!"
TRIPADVISOR, November 2016 - We booked here based on a review we read online, and we were not disappointed! This is the way we love to travel, not resort style, but "real"! Comfortable beds, air con if needed, warm showers and clean! Very helpful and friendly staff and walking distance to everything! It had everything we needed! Beautiful courtyard and an amazing and highly rated restaurant downstairs 'freddy toucans' and others very close by. Highly recommend a stay here! If I were to return to Puerto Vallarta I would most definitely book here!
"Just plain great!"
TRIPADVISOR, November 2016 - The employees were all very nice (not just polite) and accommodating. The hotel was only a couple of blocks from the ocean, shopping, site seeing and dining. It had a lot of character, was very clean and the outdoor kitchen was terrific.
"Nice family run hotel"
TRIPADVISOR, October 2016 - Nice family run hotel. It's located on the border between the more local part of the old town and the turist part at the beach. Nice easygoing atmosphere. Fine rooms with both fan and AC. There's a breakfast restaurant at the lower level.
"My away from home"
TRIPADVISOR, October 2016 - The family atmosphere and beautiful courtyard is home for me as I travel once a month...a friendly English speaking staff with everything I need for a quiet relaxing visit...the service is great and daily meals are at wonderful.Freddie Tucans or Joe's Fish Shack....my favorite respite in my busy life!
"Will be back"
TRIPADVISOR, September 2016 - As many other reviews have stated, this is a very comfortable, traditional Mexican hotel. It was in the perfect location, very clean, very helpful and accommodating staff. For example, the first couple of days I didn't love the smell of the cleaning liquid. I have a bit of a sensitive nose. I ask the maid if she could not use that. Not only did she not use it, but on her day off the replacement maid verified that I didn't want them to use it. In my book that is attention to detail I appreciate. Overall an excellent experience. I'll be back.
"When you're here... you're Familia!"
TRIPADVISOR, September 2016 - Overall: Budget hotel in great location which works well for couples or solo travelers. Clean rooms, nice gardens, and a great staff. I'll keep this one short and sweet. My second time staying here. The place feels like a home more than a hotel. The place is full of regulars who are on a first name basis with the staff. Wifi is free and works descent. Please see my enclosed photos, I love shooting at this place.
"Our favorite hotel in Vallarta!"
TRIPADVISOR, September 2016 - We love Puerto Vallarta, we come here every year right after Labor Day, and we always stay at La Posada Roger. We love the Mexican character of the Zona Romantica, and the beauty of the many flowering plants growing in the patio, around the pool, everywhere. The room is great, the air conditioning is effective, everything is extremely clean. If you love a big, modern hotel that you can find anywhere, this is not your place. But if you want to soak in Mexican hospitality and culture, and be walking distance from the beach and some of the finest restaurants, this is the place.
"Excellent Value for local hotel, no complaints whatsoever"
TRIPADVISOR, August 2016 - Lovely little hotel, restaurant for breakfast is downstairs. Small pool on the roof. Super location in the Zona Romantica. Air-conditioned room with small but pleasant bathroom. Some rooms overlook the street which I like. Safe for valuables is downstairs. can't beat the price for a charming local place to stay, will stay there again.
"Funky, Cheap, Awesome, Great Location"
TRIPADVISOR, August 2016 - We have stayed here twice, 5 years apart. Both times everything was great. It is a budget hotel, so the furniture, etc is spartan (but we did have a new TV and AC unit). Rosy at the desk was super helpful. The location is in the heart of the Romantic Zone, which is the older downtown, and about 5 minutes from the beach. Dozens of restaurants in the area including a great breakfast place on the main floor. A small rooftop pool for a quick dip, and a nice funky courtyard to have a coffee and plan your day. Some rooms are on the street side and some on the inside courtyard. Not too much street noise if the windows are closed and AC is on. The area is busy and safe.
"Always the best place to stay in the Romantic Zone"
TRIPADVISOR, July 2016 - Glad this place continues to be a hidden gem. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Hello to Doña Rosa who cleaned my room and even left flowers in my night stand. The hotel is near everything you want to eat and everything you want to do. There is a restaurant right next do for those that love an early breakfast. There is also an excellent bakery across the street. Can't wait to go back and stay at this hidden gem again.
TRIPADVISOR, July 2016 - Nice room, very Mexican hotel....not like those US hotels in Nuevo Vallarta and the Marina...this is Mexico!!!!....very nice staff work there....If you want to experience some Mexican culture stay here...close to all: great restaurants, bars, gay bars (many), Zona Romantica where all the good art galleries, etc are...the heart of the city.
