Buses will take you from one end of town to the other, or anywhere in between for only 6,50 pesos. If you are in downtown around the plaza or on the Malecon, take the bus ” olas altas ” . This will take you to the southside of town across the Rio Cuale, to los Muertos Beach. To head north towards the airport and hotel zone, take buses marked ” hoteles ” or ” aeropuerto”.
Travel to and within Marina Vallarta is also possible, just look for Marina buses. Push the button marked ” timbre ” to signal the driver to stop.
Puerto Vallarta has more than 1,000 taxis available around the town. The union has predet tariffs for travel rather than maters. Fare within the Centro zone, downtown, is only 40 pesos. Hotels often post the rates to popular destinations, but it is always a good idea to ask the driver before you travel. Also, you are not expected to tip the drivers.
The water and ice in local restaurant is pure and safe to drink. Our local water authority, Seapal, has received certification for consecutive years ensuring that our water is clean for human consum. If you want to be extra safe, bottled water is sold in town. Microdine is sold to purify vegetables and salad greens.
